mike_stemberg 40 Posted August 11, 2009 I normally tend to favour and show more uncluttered frames, but recently have been trying images with lots of detail (busy) topics or subjects. Link to comment
john pearson 0 Posted August 11, 2009 I like this one. The picture fits her. She looks like a untidy Gypsy woman. I have always liked B&W shots but I think this one would look better in color. Still a good shot. IMO. Link to comment
gsphotoguy 3 Posted August 12, 2009 I think what makes this busy image work is the perfect depth-of-field. She really leaps out of the background, especially in B&W. I love the look of concentration. Link to comment
mike_stemberg 40 Posted August 17, 2009 John, Thank you for your input . About this being better in colour you could well be right, there was not only a blaze of detail but also a blaze of colour. At the time of processing I was doing detail in B&W, and this shot could have well suffered from my choice then. Mark, Thank you too for your input. I think the choice of B&W was partly dictated by trying to minimse/isolate her from the amazing amount of colours that were present including that of those behind her. Thank you to you both again. As I mentioned this is the kind of shot that I would shoot but quietly put away but have been trying to 'do and show' things that I am not comfortable or completely in tune with. Link to comment

pepmir 0 Posted August 31, 2009 I think it is a good shot but perhaps in color it will be untill better. We can choose, today, color or black and white, in this photo I imagine, only cane imagine, the color is better. Best regards. Link to comment
mike_stemberg 40 Posted August 31, 2009 Thanks guys for your input. I feel almost compelled to show it in colour now! :-) here it is! I guess I was very much in a B&W trance then! Link to comment
luis.miro 0 Posted September 4, 2009 Great shot Mike! I share the doubts of Pep, color vs b&w, and finally I agree with you in b&w it's better...great composition and b&w work. Kind regards, Luis Link to comment

pnital 36 Posted September 14, 2009 Nice composition , and details. I like the B/W that concentrate the action and surrounding. good timing of photographing her self decoration ....;-)) Link to comment
isako 0 Posted September 15, 2009 I prefer the B&W too. the eye is too distracted by the different colors in her dress. In this version your eyes are immediately attracted to the stars/ flowers she's painting on her arm. the only element that distracts the eye is the white "thing' on the left of her head, lovely shot though.. well done, Issy Link to comment
david_l._forney 0 Posted September 27, 2009 I prefer the B&W as well. Nicely done. David Link to comment
