Blood Red Lavendar

ian cameron

Well I have to admit I have been holding this and another little beauty back..Lavendar fields are everywhere around the small town of valensole and I spent most of the late afternoon perusing all of them and sorting out which ones I would concentrate on at sunset. This one was an obvious choice as the converging rows pointed to the anticipated position so I duly returned and waited. The sun set but was nothing to write home about, then twenty minutes after it had disappeared the sky became this blazing fireball the like of which I have only seen on one other occasion and never with such an attractive subject below it.
