This are the first pictures I've taken with my new camera, so any

thoughts on exposure, focus, what I could have done differently (apart

from buy a different camera!) will be very gratefully received.

There is never a need to buy a new camera to improve pictures =)

The lighting in this is a bit harsh. The leaves and the top of the flowers are over exposed. So my suggestion is to shoot in early morning light or evening light. Also try to get a better crop of just the flowers so the green leaves are not distracting. Maybe even shooting from a lower perspective so that you will have some green leaves in the foreground but once you focus on the flower, they will become blurry and add an "artistic" aspect. Wow long comment.. sorry!
