SITTING

I saw him sitting, watching; as if in a perfect pose. I shot.

An excellent capture... the busy background doesn't intrude at all, and that to my mind makes this a great street portrait. Superb composition and control... i'm just curious about those white bands around his neck... what are they? i can see the university band around his wrist (can't make sense of the name), i assume their's some ideational linkage...

At last! A picture of a GUY that I can comment on...

 

I like the b/w tone, his expression, outfit and hair. The glo-tubes(?) are a nice, whimsical addition. It does seem to need a touch more sharpening, though.

You chose a compelling character to photograph and the graphic and abstract quality of the background sets him off nicely. His concentrated look goes with the glasses and hair and his pose makes it that much more interesting. His hand is very nicely done and probably captures the best highlighting in the foreground. For me, there's not any issue of sharpening. There may be a little disappointment in the flatness of the skin tone on his face and a lack of any real light in his eyes, but this is not a setup portrait and I think you made the best of the environment you had.

Thank you very much. I saw this young man and had to shoot him. His pose, not pose, was just great. The rings around his neck are those glow in the dark rings I believe. I saw a few of them around there that day.
