hahaha yes, i figured they were flowers.

 

I don't know. They were much bigger and, um, bloomier before? and they are growing from a thorny bush, not the ground.

 

But, they are pretty, and since they thrive without any intervention from me, I keep them.

Hollyhocks is another possibility.

They look to me like wild roses. I like the composition you *almost* have here. Would like to see it a little wider to fully capture the left side.

i think you may be right on the wild roses. my stepmother has something similar and says that's what hers are.
