This is definately "painting with a camera", great technique.

Hilary, I used photoshop to create the image. It's just the basic use of layers and textures - try googling, there are loads of tutorials on how to work with layers. Feel free to email me if you have any more questions.

the composition is stunning, truly outstanding. i dont feel the need for this texture, i would prefer without it, because anyway is a great shot.
