Lonesome Oak
A wee shot from my French holiday taken at twilight whilst wandering over some fields outside Valensole, Provence, France. I was very taken with the sky gradient from indigo through dusky red to burnt amber. In order to give the merest hint of detail in the field I needed to use five stops of graduated filter. This is precisely how it looked to my eyes so I'm delighted with the result. Please view LARGE too. Pentax 67II, 90-180 zoom, 0.9ND + 0.6ND hard grads, f/8 at 90 seconds, Velvia and a lot of pesky mosquitos chewing my bare legs.
