Thought that I would try something a bit different on a newborn shot. I

would love any feedback or ideas that you may have.

The wedding band hanging off the big toe look unnatural, perhaps even uncomfortable.

Babies are such interesting subjects. I like the effect of putting the baby's hand on it's fathers hand. Here I think you were motivated by the same thing; the tiny foot compared to adult objects. There is a wonderful baby/father's arm picture here at P.N. You can find it at

Keep experimenting and see what you can produce. There are no young babies in my family and apparently no chance for them in the future, so I'll have to start looking for babies elsewhere.

its a nice concept, but i don't think it works exactly the way you have done it. one reason is because having the father's ring blurred out in the back makes it seem less important than the mother's ring. (which might be the case, but i would think people would hope not) but if you put both feet in focus, then the picture might actually seem a little boring. if you are trying to emphasize how small and fragile and beautiful newborn's toes are....then maybe you could use one of those Murano glass rings off the pinkie which would be quite eye-catching while adding a bit of "modern" flare to your art and your idea.

love the idea. be sure to polish up the rings and even try baby lotion for baby's skin on such close up shots. good luck. - mmwhite.
