Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress

ray_gapinski

Canon EF lens 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5Shutter speed was about 1/180 second. Just wish I'd used a slower speed, to better show the spinning propellers. It wasn't just PARKED there, folks. Honest !

I didn't see this one before Ray. I like this one even better than the last. Here even at a shutter of 180 you can begin to tell that the props are in motion so that should give you some idea of where you need to go. How bout a ThunderBolt photo next? Love those aircraft!

Warbirds make nice photo material --I am predjudiced of B-17's because I knew a quiet man who was a sidegunner/radio operator during WWII.

After touring a B-17 at an airshow --my respect for this quiet man deepened greatly!!!

Ditto on the respect. I had an uncle that flew them. Eight hours in an un-pressurized cockpit (no heating or air conditioning)and louder than loud should be. Too bad you can't capture the sound of the engines on film. It was marvelous. Goot shot!

Nice shot Ray, with engines running. One doesn't fully appreciate the 17 till one has been inside and through one. Cramped as hell!
