Midnight at Mývatn, Study I

F11, 2 seconds150mm Sonnar.Delta 100 in DD-X at 20C for 12 minutes.Standing at the lake edge and watching the sun skim the horizon as it moved from sunset to sunrise was one of the most memorable experiences I had in Iceland. The soft light of this in-between time was muted further by a dense fog which spilled across the surface of the lake, obscuring the small islands just off shore. I sat and watched the movement of the water vapour and the shifting, filtered light and wondered if there could be a place anywhere near as peaceful.
