Goðafoss in Fog
Whilst the weather at Mývatn was beautifully clear, at Goðafoss a dense bank of fog had settled which soon turned to drizzle. Despite an unpromising prospect I decided to make two photographs using the Pentax. I packed up at around 11.30 PM and drove back to Mývatn to find the fog had slithered over the hillside toward the lake. The scene was reminiscent of the short story 'The Mist' by Stephen King and it was quite alarming, in the early hours, to see large volcanic shapes looming through the gloom. The vignette is due to the six stop Neutral density filter.Pentax 6x7, Fuji Provia 100F, six stop ND filter, 1 stop ND graduated filter (over sky and waterfall), 45mm Takumar, F22, 1 minute exposure.
