dan_dubois 0 Posted March 3, 2001 Beautiful picture! Great composition and control of light. Nice work. Link to comment
billtootell 0 Posted July 29, 2001 I like the story, here - the child in the midst of all these statues. I can't help but wonder what that conversation is about. Link to comment
tony_dummett 0 Posted August 4, 2001 I love "The Dying Gaul". Took several pictures of it myself when in Rome recently and at the Capitolini Museum, trying to weave in the onlookers (as you have). My favourite onlooker was a lovely Spanish girl - couldn't take ny eyes off her... pure joy to look at - but alas, the picture failed for clutzy technical reasons. Yours has succeeded beautifully both technically and aesthetically. I know this is a hard shot to frame, because I tried and miserably failed. (P.S. Had to settle for Constantine's foot in the end. At least my wife wasn't jealous of THAT). Link to comment
g1 0 Posted August 18, 2001 I'm sure I commented on this before. Has it been reposted? Anyway I adore the subtle ochre tones. Very appealing. The light is good, exposure excellent. From the previous comment, I also appreciate the comp. Link to comment
joel benford 0 Posted August 18, 2001 "I'm sure I commented on this before. Has it been reposted?" This is the same version that's always been up. But I have posted my share of statue pix, many of them in the classical vein. Link to comment
