mark_lakeman 0 Posted July 23, 2009 Like the conflicting shapes. Hexagonal formations and circular water pools. A dark and moody image that conjures up lands of fables and legends set in ancient warlock history. Detail is very sharp, but then again your camera is pretty good !!! Looking forward to more. cezaryfilew 0 Posted July 24, 2009 Misty, solid & liquid and whatever... It takes some imagination to find such a point o view. I am impressed, congratulations David! CF Link to comment
davidclapp 0 Posted July 25, 2009 Many thanks, I appreciate it as undersaturated scenes like this rarely get attention on photo.net. Everything has gone Disney CGI lately, so I for one appreciate it. The whole image has been processed in LAB mode to preserve the colours without adding additional saturation at all ( curves and levels adjustments unfortunately induce all manner or saturation increases). LAB is a vastly overlooked colorspace and is just excellent for rendering true takes of scenes like these. It was photographed using a 24mm TS-E mk1, unshifted but tilted and hyperfocally focused to give sharpness only a foot and a half from the from element. Its a killer sharp lens when unshifted. 1DsIII, 24mm TS-E, f16 ISO 100. Link to comment
