ifti 1 Posted July 31, 2009 Hafeez your best sharpness is at the body of the insect. and some on the right wing while rest gets soft due to very shallow DOF at closer distances. To get the whole insect in focus at close distance you need to keep the object as pralel to the cameral sensor as possible. Getting the eyes and head in sharp focus makes the picture that rule is the same as taking portraits , the eyes have to be sharp. Last thing put your Nikkor 105 in manual mode when you are at close distance. Use a tripod/monopod as at macro distance VR is a disappointment. I have this lense and Use it for portraits and am happy with it. Regards ifti Link to comment
