the dramatic silhouette of the cross... the interesting support structure of the roof... but it looks warped and, seen in juxtaposition with the charming church at the back, quite awkward... i guess they are both interesting structures in their own right and individual photographs would perhaps have served them best... as far as this one goes you have a great sky and i really like the diagonal line going into the bottom right corner... consider the tweaked image i've uploaded... i've also increased saturation a bit, and sharpened (the focus doesn't seem to have been the church or perhapsyou had too shallow a depth of field)...

Thanks for stopping by and taking time to comment. I quite like the crop you have added here, it certainly acentuates the fact that the church is the subject matter and not the bushes or the Lych gate in the foreground. This was shot at 12mm which is the reason for the perspective distortion. Unfortunately my PS skills don't extend to perspective correction at the moment. I did have a tutorial on this somewhere and I need to look it up. I was disappointed with the DOF here. I focussed on the gate area with an aperture of f20. At 12mm I hoped that would give me a good DOF to render the church sharp but it wasn't to be. Saturation? I am never certain how much to push the saturation. I sometimes like the desaturated approach as can be seen on other shots in my portfolio. I might try it with this shot. I am going to go back and shoot this again from a higher veiw point. The surrounding country side is flat around the church so I am planning to shoot with the tripod on the roof of my car. This should give a better veiw of the grass and the grave stones which can hardly be seen here.

Thanks again for your comments.

Regards

Tony
