Mike Marcotte 50,759 Posted January 24, 2003 Very nice contrast of young & old. I like the empty chairs in front of the old man for some reason. Link to comment
reed_clark 0 Posted May 20, 2003 I also am not sure why, but I really like the photo with the young and the old. Good job on this one. Its a sad shot too. One thing I just noticed as I am writing this is the backback , I find it distracting, to me it would be nice if that wasnt there. But otherwise very nice Link to comment
michael grace 0 Posted May 22, 2003 Yes there is some sadness - there is no connection betweem the man and the baby but also there is dignity protrayed here which makes me want to eliminate all the objects other than the man sitting quietly in his chair. It also saddens me not to see the old man not making an attempt to commuicate with the child. So you see there is alot going on in this picture and you have captured it very well. Link to comment
billangel 9,671 Posted June 4, 2003 Excellent composition. The infant is just starting on "life's journey", while the elderly man has almost reached "the end of the road". There is a bit of subtle religious symbolism in this image (note the cross on the chair frames) which, even if its inclusion in the image was unintentional, provides the viewer with some additional information about the type of social function that brought these persons together. rockyford 0 Posted September 18, 2003 This was the last known picture taken of my son with my grandfather. I only wish I had taken a few more myself. I love this picture. It brings back many good memories. Link to comment
tefkros 0 Posted June 1, 2005 Very emotional picture, and the setting is equally moody! Excellent! Link to comment
