Last Light - Machu Picchu

harrylichtman

Last light of afternoon illuminates Machu Picchu in the Peruvian Andes. I was blessed with some fantastic light and few tourists to mar my images! Though not the classic vantage point, I loved the way the terraced walls wrapped around the image and pointed focus toward the lit peak. Also, visitors were never in my way when photographing from this area. Many tourists has already left the site late in the day when most of my favorite images were taken.

Hy!

You have just make a comment to my Machu Pichu photo and I answer you that my only tripod was a rock and a jacket!

I think you did a great job there too! Great country and a great place to visit (even without tripod).

Hi Harry,

This is a place I have wanted to visit for quite some time, but I was never quite sure how photogenic it was.

This photo answers my question! Lovely image.

Thanks Stephen - I found the PM was much more interesting from this POV. Most shot seem to be taken much lower at the ruins and in the PM. Definately fewer tourist in your view in the PM. It is truely something to marvel at.

Nice shot! I haven't seen this composition before and I find it very effective. The light on the peak is also effective at drawing my eye back into the scene.
