Great mood. This composition is powerful in its simplicity.

It does have a great mood. However the compososition suffers from having the bench too central. Try cropping off part of the left edge of the picture and you will see the composition become stronger.

you're right - cropping does make it more interesting. The day after I shot it I also realized I should have considered movigng the trashcan, although it would be pretty easy to Photoshop out also :)

Great mood indeed, but as jerry said a left crop would improve the comp... Did you take other shot of this scenery? I feel that a few metres back and a bit to the right separating the bench and the black spot at the right and make them smaller could made this to a very strong image. Regards!
