I am not going to rate this photo, I think that a comment is more usefull.

It is indeed an interesting photo. Reminiscent from the Dada period, specially Man Ray. The pose and her hair contribute to create that mood and to remind me of those photographs. The technical perfection, the lightning, the sharpness are crucial players as well, all in the same direction. Then I have to judge it at the higher level. I think, alas, that it is a failed photo: for one side the toning, that sepia tone need a little bit more yellow, the red is too strong. On the other side the necktie, I think it is forced making the whole thing less true, faked. I know that this photo, as Man Rays, is posed and intended to be seen as posed, no doubt about it, but they really became a work of art when the posing and the rest are fluid, when they dont have anything that dont give the impression that has been put up. I guess that the necktie is there in order to give an ambiguous feeling about her sex, an adrougynous look, not really a woman but not a boy either. I think that the necktie is unnecessary to convey that meaning, therefore it is artificial.

It's so cool. It seems original to me in comparison to other photos on this site. She's sort of looking away as if to say to you that "you're not here, I'm cool". I like that slight sepia tone as well :)

This one doesn't work for me...it lacks the smoooothness of the medium/large format work. Be it the harshness of the lighting, the roughness of the tonal scale or the hard angles of the pose, nothing flows...now having said all that it's still a lot better then what I could do!

Ah yes ! I really love the pose, and the hair, the profile, this amazing hand - all this really works perfectly together... Maybe a little reflector bottom left, for her waist, would have been a good addition, but not necessary - I'm unsure. The light on the arm (the arm holding he cigarette) is totally awesome.

One of your best studio works imo. Simple, powerful, and very suggestive. Great taste in all corners of the frame. Congrats.

Another jewel. Mood of the pose and tone are very fine.

All the best.

FIRST OF ALL YOUR WORK IS GREAT. THIS PHOTO WOULD BE GREAT TO ME ALSO, BUT YOU KNOW WHEN I LOOK AT IT I CAN´T HELP BUT FELL LIKE TRAPED, LIKE IF I NEEDED AIR, BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF ROOM AT THE RIGHT.

SORRY MY ENGLISH IS POOR, AND I HOPE YOU DON´T GET ANGRY AT ME.

"Antique" : ok, and yet keeps on the edge-not outdated. For me, in this shot you've done very well with the placement of lighting her milky skin is captivating.

The classic period swirl a nicely done touch. As well, her arm up nearer to the swirl being almost at the same eye level with her hand reminds us this womyn has vices. The classic style of the chair is easily fitting but it's how it's turned-how she must sit in it-it keeps to that subtle edge you've captured throughout.

The tie, the tie makes this shot complete in my opinion-maintaining traditional elements

typically expected of the ways a man might sit, and yet there she sits this certain kind of beautiful womyn and for the period would have raised a scandal just by doing so. This shot throughout is classic, sexy, subtle, alluring...The perfume, or perhaps cologne we can't smell again maintaines a beckoning, a wanting for more-to heighten all ones senses.

This is definitely one of the better shots I've seen on PN. Great job!
