Hey Alberto, Ivana, and Janis. Sorry I've been rather intermittent of late. I appreciate you all stopping by to look and comment. Hope you each have a merry Christmas. I'll check out the gallery, Ivana, thank you. Great to see you, too, Janis, hope you're doing well, sorry to keep you waiting. Alberto, my friend, thanks for your words, doing well, thank you. Merry Christmas! ~Sky

Great "decoration " with a string of birds that huge beast is having...;-)) it is a nice nature scene.

( another possibility I see is cropping the sky and giving the whole stage to the great juxtaposition ...;-))

I was glad to see you after a long absence.

My best wishes to you and yours for 2010.

These "ranch" scenes are my favorite Sky Blue images, they're what I remember best from way back up the trail. Crop out the sky and you'll have a nice panorama of the bull and his hitchhikers. Good DOF, that ol' bully is right in focus.

Thanks Susan. Glad you like these. I might crop this one someday, since it's not as "sky blue" as I like. Think I'm gonna have to get my monitor calibrated pretty soon because I've reached a point that I don't trust what I'm sending to the lab anymore. ~Sky

Sky -

This is a classic "F8 and be there" moment! I think this is an exceptional shot. The birds on the bull's back are icing on the cake that really make it unique However, all the other little details really contribute to the excellence of this photo,- the jagged line of dried weeds in the foreground that adds detail interst, the curve of the horns, the way the bull's eye (yikes - almost a pun) stands out... The only criticism I would make is the the sky is washed out, and I totally understand why hat happened. My solution would be to crop the sky out of the photo just at the very lowest point of the slope. I think it would give the pic more of a panorama feel and make it an even stronger composition.
