Guest Guest Posted July 13, 2009 Hehehe, I love it! Have you tried cropping some off the top so there's less white? That's distracting to me, but then I do have an overly bright monitor:~) Link to comment
sky blue 0 Posted July 13, 2009 Hey thanks Margaret and Kim. I'm glad I was there for this one. ~Sky ----------------- Kim, I've thought about doing a tighter portrait crop. As for this one, I like the environmental view but I need to see if I can get some more blue in the sky. Looking back to the original, maybe I can see what was actually there. I think I left the sky in for me because just seconds before, I watched these four birds come dropping out of the sky straight for this old bull and moments later they were gone again. Guest Guest Posted July 16, 2009 Great capture if the birds were that fast! I usually miss those shots where you have to be really fast:) Link to comment
sky blue 0 Posted July 17, 2009 I was lucky because I had been shooting a buffalo in the opposite direction and had everything close to set already. I had just turned and started back to the truck that seemed a mile away, sporting a blister from my cowboy boots. That slowed me enough to be more interested in observing this bull in this distance instead of making the hike back and suddenly here came the birds. I had no idea they were going to drop in and land right on his back. I adjusted for DOF and got off three shots before they flew. Eventually I decided I was going to have to finish the mile back up the hill. ~Sky Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted July 18, 2009 Ahem...uh Sky, I know you're a tough cowboy, but you might be more comfortable keeping some hiking shoes in your truck for those occasions...:~) My 4runner looks like I live in it, with hiking boots, hiking socks, backpack, cooler, tripod, granola bars, water bottles....it's messy, but I usually have what I need! sky blue 0 Posted July 19, 2009 (LOL) The sad thing is, I probably had more than one pair in the truck - I get in too big a hurry. Photos seem to get away too fast from me. I recovered in the hammock that evening and the blister is all but gone now. I understand about your jeep - my truck could carry 6 but I never have room for more than 1 and sometimes that space is gone also, as it is today. I need a Hummer; the original. ~Sky Link to comment

ghiga 0 Posted July 31, 2009 Sky, thanks for your comment on my "Yellow invasion"! In this period I have no time to dedicate to photo.net. But I come sometimes to see the photos of my friends. I'm ok. And my cats too. :-) Your image is really nice. i like this big animal that admit the little birds on his rump (?)... The DOF is perfect to isolate the subject from the background: nice the light too. May I to invite you to see my first photobook? It is here: http://www.blurb.com/books/646950 Ciao! Guest Guest Posted October 21, 2009 Nature at it's best - I have always wondered why birds land on my wild mustang but not my other horse. I find this interesting as I have seen birds on cows too. I f you know why let me know why because I am curious as hell. Very nice photo! Link to comment
