stamos 1 Posted July 6, 2009 Nice photo. This is a difficult light situation (strong light and shadows), some parts are exposed a lot. Perhaps it would be nicer with less light on some parts of her hand and more light in her eyes. About skin process in my photo it is complicated, better start with simple retouching in photoshop (patch and clone tools avoiding blur). Link to comment

davidorea 1 Posted July 6, 2009 Exquisite portrait, Calvin. Beautiful pose and expression. The colors, light and DOF are great. Lovely model! Regards! Link to comment
aarkp 2 Posted July 7, 2009 Calvin, the light on her hair looks great; those on her arms less so (they seem to be almost burning her skin!). But even so this is a lovely photograph because of her natural beauty, the great colors, her delighted expression, the way she seems to be caressing the leaves, and so on... actually everything is fine but for those damn splotches [having the light in her eyes would have probably have brought about splotches on her face]... next time you take her out for a session on a bright sunny day try and take along a friend with an umbrella -- and you can have the friend hold the umbrella so (out of the frame) as to block out the harsh light. Not the best solution but perhaps a practical manageable one. Of course, your friend would have to be willing to accept the bemused glances he or she would be likely to attract... but you're in the tropics anyway, and it _can_ rain anytime... Link to comment
whoz_the_man_huh 0 Posted July 8, 2009 Your detailed and insightful critique is extremely appreciated, Rajat. Canada is not a very tropical country but nonetheless I'll try your umbrella recommendation. Thanks so much! Link to comment

whoz_the_man_huh 0 Posted July 8, 2009 No worries, Rajat. Fortunately your photography prowess far exceeds your geography skills. Heh. Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted July 9, 2009 Calvin, very good portrait. She is beautiful and her expression shows her simplicity. I have reservation about the white patch of light on her hand & finger. Link to comment
whoz_the_man_huh 0 Posted July 9, 2009 Your reservation is warranted, A.K. I will try to avoid such patches in the future. Link to comment
