The expression is the whole picture, and as your sky is burned out, a vertical crop might be more effective. Crop the hand at the wrist, and just past the hair on the other side, and you'll suggest the whole gesture by including the hand alone. This cropping gives more breathing room, but if you keep it, darken the top a little and the sky a little more, and lighten the shadow in the middle of the face to keep the focus on the brightness and energy so evident here.
