ken_thalheimer 3,739 Posted October 6, 2009 Excellent in composition wherein the strong diagonal & horizontal lines lead the eye straight to the subjects. They gaze out to the left leaving the viewer wondering what they're looking at out of the frame. I'm not crazy about the vignetting & don't think it's needed. Congrats on POW Link to comment
xndyphoto 0 Posted October 6, 2009 The slight imperfections in the vertical rows of the seats makes it interesting to my eye. A lil assymetry has always sat well with me. Link to comment
pvg photography 0 Posted October 6, 2009 I love the asymmetry of this. The two people on the right grab your attention immediately and then when you see that they are looking in the direction of the empty chairs, it takes your mind to wondering why? Every picture tells a story and this one does it incredibly well, since there are so many possibilities for the answer. Well done! Link to comment
lech1 0 Posted October 6, 2009 The strongest line in this picture is the one invisible - the direction in which women are looking at something. Link to comment
selinademaeyer 0 Posted October 6, 2009 This is a GREAT image!!! I love the composition and atmoshpere, it is very strong the point of view!!! grtz Selina Link to comment
palangat 0 Posted October 7, 2009 I like the composition. The straight lines across and the overall diagonal works well. I think the two people at the extreme right is fantastic. To me the story is of two people staying behind after the show (could be anything) to ponder over the days events or could simply be two people being anxious over the events to come. My only beef: the lighting seems to be harsh in the center. Have you tried toning it down? Were there no shadows at all? Fantastic image anyway!Murali Link to comment
juan-de-santa-anna 0 Posted October 7, 2009 Well seen...and even better Taken. A gift from the gods of composition...I like the placement of the people in the frame...perfect just the way it is...congrats!!! Link to comment
atlatling 4 Posted October 7, 2009 Unusual composition, but it really works well. I find the lighting slightly strange, but the image captures my immediate attention. Nice job. Congratulations.Willie the Cropper Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted October 7, 2009 Wonderful composition. In my opinion, the fact that both women are looking in the same direction adds a lot to the image. A rare 7/7 from me! Link to comment

sjmurray 33,983 Posted October 7, 2009 Nice strong visual composition. I wouldn't change a thing. The "balance" is right on. Link to comment
Funtak 0 Posted October 7, 2009 My suggestion is to make an identical mirror image - change of sides. If you are left-handed I think I can understand you. Maybe I shold do the same with my, very similar photo I took last year, or year before..http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=7304852 Link to comment
kyllwtr 0 Posted October 7, 2009 Some different element make this photo interesting. It displays a regular pattern (chairs), but they are placed in such a way that its edges form a diagonal and horizontal lines that cross nearby the right edge of the frame, giving tension to the image. The two people on the cross point, in the same time they break the "monotony" of the pattern, give balance to the composition between the left and right part of the image. Looking toward the inner part of the image, they balance also the tension of the two line (horizontal and diagonal) pointing to the margin of the shot. They are the final point of the composition.Excellent composition, but I have to add that the gallery of Ben Benowski contains some other very intersting photo. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted October 8, 2009 I enjoyed the triangle the chairs are performing but a scalene one, the chairs are so well arranged that the two women and their direction of looking are " breaking" the harmony of its apex... and therfor animating the whole. It is a very good timing , observation, as well as B/W execution. Congratulations Ben. Link to comment
raymondborg 0 Posted October 8, 2009 Very nice image. The triangle form of chairs lead my eye to the ladies perfrectly positioned at the far end. It leave me wondering what they are looking at. Congrats. Link to comment

mg 0 Posted October 9, 2009 Great composition with great graphics, here ! Aesthetically excellent, in my opinion, although some amy see a way to mildly improve the tonal range. We have seen pictures like this before, yes, but you did give this one a special twist with the graphics. Nicely done. Congrats ! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted October 10, 2009 For me, the composition and tones are everything here. I wouldn't have been disappointed if there were no people at all in the shot. Link to comment
philip_gard 0 Posted October 12, 2009 Fantastic!!! The photo wants to dip to the right soooooo bad it's naughty. Link to comment
peter_kovacik 0 Posted October 12, 2009 Those two ladies brought the composition 'closer to earth' - otherwise it would be surrealistic (which I, personally, would prefer ...). Link to comment
fpessolano 0 Posted October 12, 2009 Very nice. The composition and de processing create a perfect sphere that makes me wonder what are the two ladies waiting or looking for. A story teller. Link to comment
