The Drain. This is one of my first photos taken during a photography class in 10th grade.
This is a negative image of a drain. I created a negative by first making a positive on negative film (from a negative B&W film image), and then projecting the positive on regular B&W photo paper in the dark room. I then "blue toned" this negative (I cannot remember the term for this process but it was similar to sepia toning). It was scanned with a cheap flatbed and I did an auto levels in photoshop. I did not do any digital alterations (the print I have looks very similar to this image - although the corners do have some detail in the print). The camera was a Pentax 1000 and the lens a 50mm, the exposure time and f-stop used have faded from my memory.
