I use only a simple digital with zoom, so not a lot of choices except to

catch a moment. Is this moment too soon? Too late? A poor choice?

Elizabeth... The eye is the most important part and this image shows you see the beauty that was before you. A couple comments: 1) the horizon should always be level or it distracts and if you have access to any type of editing software (perhaps that came with your camera) then you can adjust light levels and contrast, even cropping.
