karen rexrode 0 Posted September 27, 2009 You really nailed the focus on this one. Very well done. Perfect framing. As I look over your folder and the folders of your favorites, I see that you like motion and eyes. Wonder if you have ever noticed that? Thanks for the kind comments on my waterfall picture. corkman 0 Posted September 29, 2009 Hi Karen. I do like to see the eyes on the riders I photograph because they alone convey the intense concentration needed to go fast around a motocross course, but I rarely get the chance since most eyes are under the shadow of their visors, or they use a dark polarized goggles. Of course, in people and animals the eyes, as we're fond of say, really are the windows to their souls. Regards, Bill Link to comment
wsanders 0 Posted October 26, 2009 Bill - been a while, but it looks like you're still pulling out some great stuff. Love the crop on this one, and the colors and saturation rock. Very well done. Link to comment
corkman 0 Posted October 27, 2009 Been a while for me as well. I am still shooting, but submitting little.Writ it off to less reverence for the Gods at PhotoNet whose motives, beyond bottom line, still elude me. Not that long ago I felt that PhotoNet sincerely wanted to create a graphic forum for serious photographers, amateur and pro, I have since felt shame for the number of times that I've linked to the photos of skilled and dedicated photographers I truly admire and be witness to the ratings abuse that's not only tolerated by PhotoNet, but possibly encouraged by them. Perhaps one day in the conference room someone said, "We can really pump up our "hit numbers" if we cater to anonymous raters who know little, care less, but get off on the chance to put down someone's work just for the hell of it. Sorry to lay this on you Wes, you picked a bad time to reach me. And for the 17th time in my life, I picked a bad time to quit smoking. Link to comment
