tomadakis 0 Posted June 24, 2009 Which is more effective B&W or Color? Your feedback, critique and comments are appreciated! Link to comment
davidorea 1 Posted June 26, 2009 Both compositions are great, Antoni. Perhaps, I prefer this one. A delight of b/w image, shapes, textures and contrast. Excellent photograph. Best regards! Link to comment
korischei 0 Posted June 28, 2009 I have to say this B/W looks great, and I also prefer it over the color. Old buildings are great! We own land with some old buildings, however they are falling down and need some TLC - we will do our best to keep them standing. Good work! Kori Link to comment
lindabique 1 Posted June 29, 2009 The sharpness is perfect throughout the image, That f/8 and be there really worked here. I like the patterns in the stones, and the light through the archway, very nice depth, tones and mood....well captured and composed...:) Link to comment
tomadakis 0 Posted June 30, 2009 David, thank you for taking the time to view both and comment on both, I truly value your feedback. Link to comment

tomadakis 0 Posted July 1, 2009 Kori, thanks for taking the time to stop by. Old buildings are unique. New construction is the creation of the lowest bidder... I hope that you have great success with your old structures in your property. Link to comment
tomadakis 0 Posted July 2, 2009 Linda, thank you so much. One would not think this exists in Miami. Link to comment
tomadakis 0 Posted July 3, 2009 David L. Thank you for the kind comment, It is nice to see a portrait artist appreciate a shot like this one! Link to comment
steveshinn 0 Posted July 4, 2009 The very high contrast works well here. But I think that the image is even better cropped to just above the window over the door. See what you think. Is that a "for sale" sign at the end of the path? Link to comment
tomadakis 0 Posted July 5, 2009 Steve, Thanks for your thoughtful comment. I tried your suggestion. I like it. I think the vertical porthole at the top adds to the image but the square crop is nice also. What do you think? I believe the sign is for a rental appartment complex and it simply displays the name. GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted July 6, 2009 Lovely image...black and white is very effective I find, esp with old buildings, however I have not even attempted black and white yet.....one more to add to the list....I'd love to walk through that archway and just explore......thankyou for sharing...Gail Link to comment
tomadakis 0 Posted July 6, 2009 Gail, color is great, but in B/W is where photography reaches the artistic core of the human mind IMHO. Link to comment
karolostrivizas 2 Posted July 9, 2009 Bothe versions are nice Antoni but I prefer the b/w one…… It is an excellent study in textures and tonality….. The details in this beautiful stonework are really remarkable….. I also like the composition which adds depth in your image. (Steve’s crop is interesting too, accentuating the essence of the image). ………………PS : Many thanks for your kind comment about my work. Link to comment
