I won't get the chance to shoot subjects like this very often, I wonder if it would be too kitsch to add details like candles in

windows, shafts of light etc to a gothic castle scene?

My personal belief is that if it looks great, do it. If it looks tacky, don't let anyone see. Good luck.

thanks david, while suits in armour, maidens with lamps, bats, wolves may be obvious way to go, maybe just maybe theres some other ideas that will make it click, as an idea :)

Neat pic, though one thing that distracts is an inconsistency in lighting (it seems too overcast for the light that's catching on the castle). The light hit seems to be coming from behind (from a direction lower than the break in the clouds and further right)... It might be helpful if a light source was added to the background image coming from that direction. Keep the eeriness, but this would help blend the shot. Fun stuff!

Catchy, but it looks fake... artitifical like you might find in a good game.
