What bothers me the most about this is the way the edges of the book are not parallel to the frame and the way the head and shoulders are tipped. I think she is going to fall right over.

Piercing eyes react to the camera, not the book. Same shot with wide-eyed, downward look as if reacting to the printed word may be even more impressive. Just a thought. I like the tilt. A vertical parallel of book and borders would be too static IMHO. The tilt produces just enough tension to create interest.

Fun shot, but thought provoking. The swirling of the hat net in contrast to the straight forward stare of the eyes, cool. Well concieved.

Should be titled, "Eyes Wide Open!" Great shot. My eyes automatically went to her eyes... Then I saw the Eyes on the book... Fun! Nice composition...

I have to agree that cropping improves the image. Well-executed. Did you try it with her eyes focused on the page as if she were reading? I'm guessing it wouldn't be as effective but might be worth a shot... Good job!
