This is fine as is! That said, given their beauty, I might like to see them filling the frame!

Beautiful double portrait. I like the contrast of their different colored hair, and that one is making eye contact, and the other isn't. I don't see any strong reason for the expanse of background, though. I appreciate your wanting to use it, I do that too, but its use here is not adding anything, although I wouldn't say it's taking anything away, either. So it's sort of like it's there and not paying for itself. In my opinion, if you leave it, it won't hurt, but given the limitations of this site, it would be more fun to see the same size jpg with less of the background. The main thing is that the portrait is amazing, the lighting is beautiful and the parts of the picture that matter are worth looking at.
