Incredible! I only wish I could have seen it myself. Since I have began to take photogrphy seriously, though, I find I cannot sit and enjoy a scene like this, I HAVE to be photographing it.... Superb, colours, light and perfect exposure. Truely a work of art

Paolo, this is just wonderful.

The image is like a vehicle that takes me into dreams of paradise, sights of the untold mysteries of nature.

Very expressive and excellently captured and processed.

Thank you all again for the great commentary and support. I knew this picture would have done well, but I didn't certainly expect such a broad appreciation.

Walter, what does make you think this is "photoillustration", as you call it? This actually couldn't be farer from what you think of it, as it's almost a straight out of camera PHOTOGRAPH! With 25" of exposure water looks like that; clouds and fog, blown by the strong winds of the high altitudes, move during 25" and then they look like that. And with 5 stops of graduated neutral density filters you can even up the difference in brightness between the terrain and the sky, so you got dense fg and bg at once and the final scene just look like that. If this is "photoillustration", well, all landscape photography is "photoillustration" therefore.

Have you ever been at 2000m altitude, at sunset, with stormy and foggy weather? Have you ever witnessed how quickly conditions change up there? Perhaps you would see it differently, if you'd experienced something like this with your own eyes...

Amanda! This might not be constructive AND it's my feedback. I love this! The colors, the sharp detail in contrast to the blurred water... It is all stimulating to me. All very exciting and alluring.

ANd to know that you shoot hockey (me being a hockey fan w/a dream of shooting a team some day) is double interesting. Well done, imo.

Paolo, you're certainly master of magical landscapes (and seascapes too :). And this image is stunning! And since you're the master, I want to know your opinion about effect flowing water produces with long exposures. I'm talking about whitest part of water, when it passes rocks, probably bubbles reflect more light (and generally brighter) and long exposure to me "accumulates" that brightness. Do you consider that as something to avoid in some images? Or what is the way to control that? Maybe just darken in PS? Thanks!
