Palm Springs from the North Lykken Trail.

I realize this is not a real unique photo, but I am using it on my

web site www.hiking-in-ps.com and want to know a couple of things.

It you were interested in hiking in Palm Springs would this photo

give you a good idea of what you will see? And would it make you

want to hike the same trail to see this view for yourself?

Or would you want to see something different to make you want to

hike in the area.

It's an appealing local and I think the photo conveys that. Depending on how you feel about using Photoshop I can suggest a couple of tonal adjustments. In this version I: selected just the BG and did auto levels then faded 50%. Repeated for various smaller parts of the BG, toned down yellow in FG, increased overall sat. by 5, auto contrast on whole image, low level unsharp mask.

I also think it looks better if you crop out about half of the sky. That seems to bring out the foreground, which makes the entire picture more pleasing and makes me more ready to put on my hiking boots.
