This is a quaint scene, and I like it. You included more foreground than I may have, and I'd like to see a bit more contrast (either digitally or shot at a different time of day). I don't know if you used a polarizer, but one would have been useful here.

Paul, I agree a polarizer would help add contrast, deepen the color and cut down reflectivity on the grass to some degree. This is an ideal afternoon to be shooting in the countryside. The composition looks really good. Perhaps lower light would set this off well. Best wishes to you.
