This is quite lovely. The delicate pose and softness of the light is stunning. I do think a tighter crop is needed to really make the subject stand out. I tried this to see what it would look like. I hope you don't mind my suggestion.

thanks, deb. i have tried tighter crops on this, but i like how the negative isolates her. in the ballet, giselle becomes distraught and kills herself. i emphasized the empty black to work within that context.

You are right, that story does need that black space.

Interesting work. Right selection as B&W. Nice capture of light flow. Crop version even better.
