I'm glad to see a hint of detail on this side of the windmill, I like the fact that you have a somewhat darker area of vegetation on the lower edge (helps make a natural frame), the light on the golden grass is very attractive, and the color and patterns of the clouds are superb. Guest Guest Posted June 16, 2009 The skyscape in particular is beautiful, rather like a Turner, but the highlight values on the horizon and carrying over to the field are setting up a single flat, rather static band of light in which the vertical element, your windmill, doesn't participate. Bringing down the edges of that band and brightening slightly the topmost vane will give better depth and create a triangle defined by that topmost vane The edge of the reeds under it, and the lowering sun in the distance. This edit would require some finesse, but is well worth trying. Link to comment
