ericx 0 Posted March 10, 2001 I Like. How did you get the Cat to stay still like that? Mine always wants to rub the camera. Good Shot. Link to comment
einar myhrer 0 Posted March 11, 2001 Eric, Actually, the hard part was to get him to look at the camera in the first place. He was about to doze off on the couch and I liked the way he was positioned, so I wanted to take a shot before he fell asleep. He utterly refused to open his eyes more than halfway and look at the camera until I made a short and kind of loud yelling noise that startled him just long enough for me to get the picture. dana 0 Posted March 12, 2001 Great picture! I keep looking at it again and again. It's probably one of the most unusual shots of a cat I've seen - and as a passionate cat lover, I've seen quite a few of them! Link to comment
michael_fruitman 0 Posted March 18, 2001 Haha, I love the expression on that cat's face! Link to comment
scott_eaton 0 Posted March 21, 2001 What a great shot! Not too cutesy as most animal pics are and sure fire calendar material. Link to comment
mediumformat 2 Posted April 3, 2001 I love those eyes and how the rest of the background is out of focus. Creative. Link to comment
2yellowdogs 0 Posted April 4, 2001 I'm a confirmed cat hater, but that is a great shot. Excellent composition and exposure. Link to comment
randal_antonishak 0 Posted April 5, 2001 A fine image. The shallow DOF really makes for a cat-chy image.. :o) What lens were you using??? Sincerely, Randal Link to comment
chris_whaley 0 Posted April 13, 2001 Nice....cat all relaxed with eyes buzzed open...great shot. The shallow depth of field sets it off well. Good work. Link to comment
w_efajan 0 Posted April 15, 2001 I am usually prepared to dislike a photo of such a tired theme, but this photo is most enjoyable. Excellent. Link to comment
ty 0 Posted April 18, 2001 very nice. cat are tricky subjects to photograph. great job! Link to comment
wader1 0 Posted May 1, 2001 Cats have some of the most interesting behavior I have seen. I love how this picture (although the photographer said the cat was asleep and momentarily startled) shows the cat in a "slithery" position, instinctively ready to jump back into action, even at rest. bob_smith9 0 Posted May 3, 2001 Beautiful composition and excellent choice to use B&W film, but I wish a *tiny* bit more detail was present around the eyes, esp her right eye which kind of belnds in too much. Otheriwse, LOVE IT! Link to comment
teber 0 Posted May 26, 2001 i love cats, and i love that picture. it has very good quality, and this extremely captivating appeal about it. i wish i had a creative sense & camera half as good as you do. you really took a phenomenal picture. Link to comment
karen_jacot 0 Posted June 7, 2001 I too thought the cat looked ready to pounce (until I read that he was almost asleep). I love that you managed to capture the wide eyes, and I think the DOF is perfect. Also I really like that it is in b&w--I'm not sure I'd like it as much in color. Link to comment
mike_s85 0 Posted July 18, 2001 this cat looks absolutly funny! It seems to say something like :'yesterday i had dozen of beer' Link to comment
jonathon_shaw 0 Posted July 28, 2001 I like this picture a lot. The "cramped" (in a good way) dimensions add to the feeling that the cat is ready to spring into play at any moment. The depth of field also adds to this feeling and the off centering of the subject keeps the viewer from being too intrusive. Excellent job in delivering an idea without fault. Link to comment
uncle_ziba 0 Posted August 17, 2001 I'm glad you discovered the joy of yelling at cat. I always yell at cats myself. It's great! Link to comment
amypowers 0 Posted August 20, 2001 Very cute, and as Scott said, great calender material... Link to comment
isaac sibson 0 Posted September 8, 2001 Brilliant. Lovely shot of an animal that is notoriously difficult to photograph (I should know...). I don't usually care for Black and White, but I think it works here (portraiture is one of the few areas I think it does (my opinion only...no flames please). Nice one! Link to comment
fabgo 0 Posted September 21, 2001 I think this picture has a great composition. I like the panoramic format and the placement of the cat on the left side of the frame, leaning right. Very impressive! Link to comment
jeanie_r 0 Posted September 23, 2001 I like how the depth of field is used in this photograph. I probably would have put the cat on a different color, but it works well here. I am not a big fan of black and white, but this one I like. I also like the placement of the cat. The tail balances the body/head very nicely. Link to comment
