I Like. How did you get the Cat to stay still like that? Mine always wants to rub the camera.

Good Shot.

Eric,

Actually, the hard part was to get him to look at the camera in the first place. He was about to doze off on the couch and I liked the way he was positioned, so I wanted to take a shot before he fell asleep. He utterly refused to open his eyes more than halfway and look at the camera until I made a short and kind of loud yelling noise that startled him just long enough for me to get the picture.

Great picture! I keep looking at it again and again. It's probably one of the most unusual shots of a cat I've seen - and as a passionate cat lover, I've seen quite a few of them!

Nice....cat all relaxed with eyes buzzed open...great shot. The shallow depth of field sets it off well. Good work.

I am usually prepared to dislike a photo of such a tired theme, but this photo is most enjoyable. Excellent.

Cats have some of the most interesting behavior I have seen. I love how this picture (although the photographer said the cat was asleep and momentarily startled) shows the cat in a "slithery" position, instinctively ready to jump back into action, even at rest.

Beautiful composition and excellent choice to use B&W film, but I wish a *tiny* bit more detail was present around the eyes, esp her right eye which kind of belnds in too much. Otheriwse, LOVE IT!

i love cats, and i love that picture. it has very good quality, and this extremely captivating appeal about it.

i wish i had a creative sense & camera half as good as you do. you really took a phenomenal picture.

I too thought the cat looked ready to pounce (until I read that he was almost asleep). I love that you managed to capture the wide eyes, and I think the DOF is perfect. Also I really like that it is in b&w--I'm not sure I'd like it as much in color.

this cat looks absolutly funny! It seems to say something like :'yesterday i had dozen of beer'

I like this picture a lot. The "cramped" (in a good way) dimensions add to the feeling that the cat is ready to spring into play at any moment. The depth of field also adds to this feeling and the off centering of the subject keeps the viewer from being too intrusive. Excellent job in delivering an idea without fault.

Brilliant. Lovely shot of an animal that is notoriously difficult to photograph (I should know...). I don't usually care for Black and White, but I think it works here (portraiture is one of the few areas I think it does (my opinion only...no flames please). Nice one!

I think this picture has a great composition. I like the panoramic format and the placement of the cat on the left side of the frame, leaning right. Very impressive!

I like how the depth of field is used in this photograph. I probably would have put the cat on a different color, but it works well here. I am not a big fan of black and white, but this one I like. I also like the placement of the cat. The tail balances the body/head very nicely.
