Thanks for the compliment, you are very kind. However, this is Canada not USA. We do share the North American continent and are very similar in many ways.

All the best.

But for me it is all America, as you said - the continent is a country for me, the dreamland! I feel that way since my childhood!

Canadians beleive that they are very, very different from Americans, and take great pride in this. To some it is an insult to be confused with Americans. But when you get right down to it, there are more similarities. JFYI, in case you ever visit here.

Take care.

Geez, this is outstanding work Linda... I'm curious about whether it was tone mapped or not as well. It must be but it looks incredibly natural. Well done.

Thank you for visiting, and thanks for asking about tone mapping.

I did what I have been doing with images since I first started using Photoshop in the early nineties, with one of the first versions while I was taking a digtal art and design program. I didn't realize it was like tone mapping and hadn't heard of HDR. (I have been a little isolated) I just take my image and create a number of layers. I adjust the light on each layer through shawdow/highlight and curves usually, and I then adjust the opacity on each layer until I get what I think is a good image, and merge them all. I also do a little dodge and burn that I learned in the pre-digital age in the darkroom. I don't know if this is even considered a legitimate technique.

All the best.

The technique you have described is one I have used in the past before I recently started playing with HDR. Because the grass was blowing in the wind, HDR would not have been an option here. Your technique produces a wonderful appearance so keep using it.
