aplumpton 16 Posted September 25, 2010 Nice landscape and I like how you used the two trees. I should look up Dix River as I am curious where it is. Reminds me strongly of canoeing on the Lot and Sele rivers in Quercy, France. The river has apparently leached those cliffs over time. Link to comment
dbcooper 0 Posted December 22, 2010 Thanks for the kind words, Arthur. The Dix River is a tributary of the Kentucky River. This was shot not far from their confluence, about 35 miles southwest of Lexington. The closest town with a post office is Burgin, KY. That area of the Kentucky River is called 'The Palisades', sort of a gorge, characterized by high karst limestone walls on both sides. It's quite picturesque, but a little challenging to access by land. Link to comment
