jairorodriguez 0 Posted July 11, 2009 This was taken on July 4th 2008 from a spot overlooking lake Union in Seattle. At that point smoke from the fireworks was all around, which is a little bit distracting. But that's also the moment when you see the nicest fireworks! Comments and ratings are very welcome! jtipton 0 Posted July 11, 2009 Best fireworks shot I have seen so far this year. Very cool. Best wishes-Jim Link to comment
harlequin 0 Posted July 12, 2009 Very nice capture of the climatic moment. Great color and the smoke adds to the shot. It is intriguing the way the fireworks seem to dwarf the city and the boats. Well done, thanks for posting. -- Charles Link to comment
mike_stemberg 40 Posted July 12, 2009 Great vantage point to shoot from! If the shot were purely of fireworks in the sky, yes, the smoke could have been a negative, but from this angle, with the spread of the harbour and city carpeting the frame it just adds more atmosphere, colour and 'flair'. Great shot! Link to comment
jairorodriguez 0 Posted July 12, 2009 Thank you all for your comments! I wasn't quite sure about the smoke lingering around all the lights. This is my second attempt at shooting fireworks and had to take a few shots until I got it right! Thanks again for stopping by!! Jairo Link to comment
shaldar 0 Posted July 12, 2009 Fabulous !! May I request you to disclose the technical aspects e.g. shutter speed, f value,ISO, Tripod etc.? Regards Link to comment
jairorodriguez 0 Posted July 14, 2009 Thanks for your interest Susmit. Obviously this was shot with a tripod. I didn't have a shutter release at that moment so I set up the camera in shutter priority to 2 sec and let the camera decide on aperture. This was a 2 sec f14 iso1600. I wish I'd had the shutter release (now I do!), as I could had used bulb mode and decide when to trigger the shutter, instead of using the camera self-timer. hope it helps! Jairo Link to comment
