RickDB 10 Posted June 5, 2009 A typical English Perpendicular style church, built on the site of a 13th century chapel. The limestone nave dates from about 1430 but the 103' tower is constructed from pink sandstone. Several members of the Fitton family are buried in the church and there is an effigy of Mary Fitton, possibly the "Dark Lady" of Shakespeare's sonnets. Perhaps not deserving of high marks for originality, there are 100 year old postcards that are almost identical, but this is still a charming view that I hope you will enjoy! Link to comment
