Phillip,

Pretty girl - Sharp focus - Very good skin tones - Good neutral background - She is separated nicely from the background - You have a well formed catch light in her left eye - She has a very pretty expression and has applied her make-up well - I like her eye contact with the camera (viewer).

She has a shadow from something (perhaps an eyelash or smudged eyeliner?) under the bottom eyelash of her left eye. The shadow of her nose is completely covering the iris of her right eye. You are getting a reflection off the white of her right eye from your rim light (It almost looks like an out of place catch light).

I am not real sure why you have cut the bottom of her chin off with her shoulder. It appears she has her bra strap showing. That would not be very couth.

She should have more room in front of her. If you would place the tip of her nose in the vertical center of the photograph, she would be compositionally balanced for left and right. I think you have cropped into her hair too much.

I am not sure I like your broad lighting. I think you would provide a more 3-dimensional effect by having your main light going to the front of her face. This would provide some nice shadows on her back and the back of her hair, you would get rid of the shadow on her right eye and you would have catch lights in both eyes.

The "© Marco '09" is not part of the photograph. It belongs on the mat.

Nice shot,

Mark

This is a good shot indeed and i humbly think the critique above is very professional and constructive, and I do agree with it. I think you have done a good job, and you are lucky to have an honest and constructive critique like the above! many would comment: "WOW! 7/7 anon" and some would rate 3/3 without any critique, forgetting that both acts are not helping the photographer! Good work and best wishes. Regards

+1 on the previous comments.

I would to add, increase your modeling lighting or use more light on your studio because her pupil is dilated; she has great eyes, they can add more to this shoot.

I like the tone and sharpness, feels a bit like a classic Marlyn Monroe picture.

Great work!

Best regards Tore
