Guest Guest Posted June 1, 2009 Mahen, Cute girl - Her skin tone is quite good. I think the shadows are a bit harsh - you could use some fill light. Having a less contrast may solve some of your problems. She needs catch lights in her eyes to give her life. You are running a shadow into her right eye. The shadow under her nose is annoying. It would look better if it connected with the shadow on the face and filling in the shadow would help. She could be moved a little to her left to more balance the photograph. Try to position the tip of her nose in the vertical center of the photograph. This will usually balance the left and right sides of your portrait. The background is quite fussy - It draws my attention away from the subject. If you moved in just a little bit you wouldn't have her left arm, white skirt (or pants?) or her red belt showing to draw my attention from her face. Please tell her not to stay up too late at night (she looks like she has bags under her eyes). Your name is not part of the photograph. It belongs on the mat. Nice shot, Mark Link to comment
