soniam 6 Posted May 28, 2009 Not only frigid but icey cold water! I was only standing there for about ten minutes and it was treturous crossing back over the water because I could no longer feel my feet, they were so numb. This pristine creek was emptying into a muddy river just a few meters behind me. It was a shame to see this clear green glacier water mix with the other river and any photos I attempted to get of it were simply no good. I'm thrilled that you all have enjoyed this one. Thanks for stopping by. Link to comment
papasan 0 Posted May 29, 2009 Beautiful image Sonia, The colors of the stones are simply amazing and grab the eye. Nice water blur effect, just right actually not overdone. Your composition is impeccable, the stones in the near foreground provide a sense of depth, the diagonal line created by the stones and the water blur combine to give a nice sense of dynamics. In fact you have a second image within this one if you crop out the land area and sky in the back ground, the water and stones constitute a great picture by itself. Cheers - michel Link to comment

soniam 6 Posted June 2, 2009 Thank you very very much. I hadn't thought about cropping it to only include the stones before. It is a very nice suggestion. Thank you. Link to comment
www.photo.netphotosseamo 0 Posted June 8, 2009 like the saturation and the shutter speed for the water. slowing it down almost always looks great. but have to agree, the moutains don't look super sharp, but i suppose that's what happens when the sun goes down! where was this? Link to comment

davidorea 1 Posted August 12, 2009 Exquisite composition, dear Sonia. A delight of viewpoint, stones, colors, clouds and atmosphere. I like the effect of the long exposure. Excellent photograph! Congrats! Link to comment
User_1855600 0 Posted August 5, 2010 Sonya- This image really grabbed my eye. I love the diagonal created with the rocks in the lower 2/3 of the frame. The composition is well balanced and there is a sense of harmony between all aspects of the image. It's a very nice landscape image. I have a few small observations. The rocks in the foreground are beautifully defined and colorful (especially with the wonderful smokey looking water swirling past them). I feel the saturation of the foreground does not match the mountains and sky. Perhaps the intensity of the pink hues in the clouds might be increased to balance with the intensity of the rocks? Or maybe pull back slightly on the saturation / vibrance of the rocks and stream to match the mountains and clouds? Just a thought. Congrats on a beautiful photograph! Link to comment
