Jeremy Stein 0 Posted December 19, 2002 Nicely done! This is a great concept and is very well executed. The result is a visually pleasing representation of jazz music and some of the feelings it evokes. The background is well done and suits the mood of the photo quite well, and the addition of the light-colored spiral also contributes to the fun atmosphere of the picture. It's all well done individually and the combination is extremely pleasing and attractive. My congratulations to the "chef"! Link to comment
scott bulger 0 Posted December 19, 2002 A couple of things that crossed my mind....the jewelry and glasses on the girl are a bit clunky, not really adding to the sense of grace that you are looking for here I think. Also, instead of the swirly tornado that is more chaotic, maybe just add a few musigal notes or scales or some other organized representation of music. Seems like a top notch job to me otherwise. axel_bueckert 0 Posted December 19, 2002 Excellent! The only thing I don't like are those white rings. Link to comment
jerrymat 5 Posted December 19, 2002 The casting of the shadow is nice, but it disagrees with the angle of lighting on the woman's face. Link to comment
mg 0 Posted December 19, 2002 The styling of the model could be improved (jewelry ? dress ?), and besides that, I'd have liked a real shadow on the ground... Besides that, I like the idea and the party mood... As for the twirling tinggi, why not, but I'm unsure if it was needed. Overall, competent and creative. Link to comment
alexa_bell 0 Posted December 19, 2002 Very nicely executed composition. The only thing that that bothers me is that the shadow on the girl's face does not coincide with the direction of the light source. Link to comment

k._s._lovington 0 Posted December 21, 2002 normally, i wouldn't say anything about this, but since you put the title of this in the border, i feel compelled. IMO, the model here says anything but "miss jazz". i was thinking more like "miss high school dance team". the pose, as well, seems to have nothing to do with what jazz is all about. same with the clothes, and the design...actually, nothing in this says "jazz" to me-am i missing something? dougityb 0 Posted December 24, 2002 What I'm not clear on is whether she's coming out of the horn, or going into it, and whichever one it is, what's the meaning. But, It's sure put together well. Also, is red the best choice for Jazz? Blue, maybe? I don't know. Link to comment
jeroen wesdorp 0 Posted December 28, 2002 This is a wonderful imaginative composite! All complimentary things have already been said above and are well deserved. Interesting point Doug raised. Perhaps she's not moving in or out of the horn at all, but just part of the horn. She could be the horn, extended & personified. In that case you could have her sing, so as to have the music continue that her body is blocking. Another thing might be to "mirror" the white whirl so that it flows similar to the end of the horn. I attached a crudely made illustration just to show the idea. That way it seems more natural. And you could also consider rotating the circles a bit to follow the shape of her torso and create some more dynamic. Well, these are just suggestions. Cheers, Link to comment
eileen_molony 0 Posted December 30, 2002 Your work is so refreshing, it really shows the great points to digital photography. Love everything about it, composition, color choice and the shadow, that makes the shot. Link to comment
