Photography was second choice on this day. I was fishing just to the right of the picture, when these magnificent wave explosions kept catching my attention. Finally after seeing enough of these, I dropped the pole, pulled out the camera, and captured to me what is still one of the most beautiful combinations in all Hawaii... Majestic mountains vs. powerful waves. www.hawaiianphotos.net/Kauaitours.htm

Hey, Vincent. Nice top/side lighting, great action. This one doesn't have your trademark rich colors, but is captivating nonetheless.

Thank you all for sharing your thoughts on this image. I will never get this again...neither will anyone else. This was just a freak accident in a sense, and I was there with a camera. There is a God! Thanks again.

Spectacular counterlight and good captrure of the breaking wave. The clouds are where they should. A perfect postcard (and this is not a pejorative comment...)

Ahhh, the old wave breaking on the rocks shot. This one is hands down better than nearly all of mine.

This is really great after I scroll to just below the sky. I think it could be great with a crop. Or maybe the sky and right mountain are a bit washed out/pale..something..They don't look good.

However the wave and rocky outcropping right there on the left are magnificent.

If my english was better I could say much more than WOW.

And would say the same thing to the rest of your portfolio.

Congradulation body!

IMO one of your finest photos because it combines a typical, ho-hum layered mountain scene with an incredibly spectacular and powerful wave. These two things just don't seem to go together, but you tied it together with that black edge on the left. The edges of the rocks seem to be human-like figures, fearless and silent in observing the action. It's almost as if they say "you can't hurt me". Timeless photo.
