I am convinced that your brain has to be wired a certain way to appreciate this image and I guess that mine is wired to really like it. Thus, I have given it 7/7 for creativity and beauty. If I was buying this I would ask you to either darken the light area (my eyes are attracted there) on the right side or crop it but I would prefer the 'darken' option. I see some low scores without comments and it must be annoying. Whenever you tread in a direction that is off the beaten path - I suppose some people might say -"what is this". To me it is a fantasy garden with low lying clouds early in the morning. I took some 'fantasy images like this on the river bank yesterday and i am not quite ready to post them. All the best and keep up the good work

Hi Tony - Gosh I'm honored that you really like this photo. In actuality it is a bed of iris. The light colors are a group of white and pale lavender iris blooms, the others are blue and peach colored. I thought about cropping the white section, but result formed an upside down L-shape I didn't like. I liked this pic because the colors and shapes are vague and suggestive enough to let the imagination fill in the blanks (like reading a book instead of seeing the movie - the characters look how you want them to instead of how Hollywood casts them). As for the ratings, well, it's gotten to the point that if I don't get a pair of double bogies, I start to wonder what's wrong with my photo - must not be creative or controversial or obscure or different enough to be provoking. I mean, you can't please all of the people all of the time.I do wish the anonymous nay-sayers would speak up or ask what I was seeing or trying to accomplish, but that's not about to happen.

So creative and cheerful creation. it's a great abstract artwork with nice colors. The colors blending together very well. There is so many emotions in it, which make it dramatic and fantastic. I think you obtain a style which you can express your emotions in the best way. Excellent Sandra, Keep it up and continue. My rating is 7/7 undoubtedly. Best regards to you.

This is very appealing, I think the colours and nebulous shapes really catch this viewers attention. Nicely framed and presented!

Saleh and Jim-

Thank you so much for the comments. I really like these colors and can only thank my good friend and neighbor for planting them together! These "slo-mo" artsy shots are fun. I think I'll start doing them with the "live view" feature on the D700 to give me a more accurate viewing range as I move the camera. The viewfinder, because of the in-camera CCD dust-off feature, is only a 95% frame (which explains why my photos have had noticeably more space at the top than I was seeing through the view finder. (I'm a fussy framer and thought perhaps the difference was because of the way I was looking though the VF - now I know.. thanks to The Nikonians Press new book ""Mastering the Nikon D700," which is fantastic. I pre-ordered it from Amazon back in March prior to publication in May.)

You named this well. It is so lovely, light and airy. I can almost see little fairies and sprites flitting around here. I love the soft effect, the colours. This is a beautiful, gentle piece of work, it makes me feel happy just looking at it.

Hi Sandra, Yeah for your creativity. I think Monet would approve of your impressionist creation. I agree with Tony about the originality and aesthetic uniqueness of your imagining this image and recording it as you visioned rather than as it literally was. Wonderful! And, this defines bokeh.

Larry- Thank you so much for your comments and rating... I really do enjoy experimenting behind the lens. The blur here was achieved simply by moving the camera in a "c" motion during a long exposure. I think multiple exposure shots are next on my list.
