Lily III (larger is better)

This is a shoot with a new 100-300 5.6 (old one of canon’s L series)

lens. It is a hard lens to work with as it is a push/pull without a lock. I

purchased this lens used for $69 US dollars and figured that the macro

alone might be worth it. I haven’t had much time to work with it but did

get some amazing sharp shots on these flowers. I haven’t found the

sweet spot yet but find it shoots well at almost all settings. This lily is

at max focal 300, 15 seconds and f22 shot next to a well lit window so

it is natural light. I would appreciate all comments and do have many

other images at other settings I could share if you would like to see

them. Thanks for your time!

It's really a good composition with beautiful colours and details. The long exposure and f 22 were proved to be very effective for this shot. Your new lens is working nicely but the lens has not created this beautiful composition. Best regards.

This lens is super sharp (on a tripod) at every setting I used from f5.6 to f32 and every focal range as well depending on what you want softened or sharper. I was amazed! It is old (excellent condition) and hard to work with, sounds funny and jumps a bit but still great bang for the buck!

Very beautiful macro of this flower with perfect focus on the pistils and beautiful use of a soft light and pastel colors.

This is one of the most beautiful compositions and crops I have seen on a flower shoot.... Lovely colors and light.... The sharpness and details sre just gorgeous... Really great work...

I prefer Canon 1:2.8 100mm macro, I think it is a bit to pale in some areas..
