Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted December 4, 2010 Jeremy, I like your choice of putting the white (lava, snow?) off to the right. The textures and angle of view make this an outstanding image. The volcano itself reminds me of Mount St. Helens in Washington state. The cinder-like terrace also adds another element of contrast and texture. What is this volcano? How old is it? Nice job. Guest Guest Posted December 4, 2010 Very appealing and pleasant landscape capture, the vertical format is also very interesting here, the DFO is what makes this image stand in a very powerful form, having gained all of that fine details all over the frame work.Indeed having the clouds to the left of the frame did add a remarkable interest to the over all superb composition of this image as well as the tones also.Thank you for sharing such highly skilled photograph and wishing you all of the best. richterjw 1 Posted December 4, 2010 Thank you both for your kind expressions. This is Mont Blanc near Chamonix, France. The ice is part of a glacier, that is actually smaller than average at that point in time; even still the ice stood up off the rock about 3-5 meters. JR Link to comment
